Lake Washington's season ended with a first round State tournament loss.

2011 was another banner year for the Lake Washington Kangs baseball program. The team finished strong once again, playing in their fourth KingCo Championship game in the past seven seasons. They would lose that game 1-0 in eight innings to the eventual 3A state champions, Mount Si. However, the Kangs bounced back to win two straight elimination games against Mercer Island and Blanchet to earn their fifth state tournament berth in the past eight seasons. Their season ended with a 14-8 loss to Hanford in the first round of the state tournament.

Many individuals enjoyed strong seasons as well. Senior captain Bob Cruikshank earned first-team All-KingCo honors as a utility player and second-team honors on the mound. Two other Kangs were voted by the coaches as second-teamers, with junior Zach Johnson picking up the award at first base and sophomore Nick Johnson earning second-team third base. Four other LW players had their strong seasons rewarded with honorable mentions - seniors Spencer Jackson and Chris Moore, junior Theo Alexander and sophomore Steve Semler.

Three Kang seniors were also selected to play in the KingCo feeder game, which pits the top seniors in the 3A and 4A divisions against one another. Bob Cruikshank, Spencer Jackson and Chris Moore will all participate in the doubleheader, which takes place Thursday, June 2nd at Woodinville HS starting at 4:00 PM.

Congratulations to the team on another great season of Kangs Baseball!
