Kangs Open Playoffs Thursday Against Sammamish

A win Thursday would advance LW to Friday's KingCo championship game.
Following an 8-5 KingCo regular season, the Lake Washington Kangs baseball team earned the #2 seed and a bye in the KingCo 3A playoffs. The tourney started Tuesday, with Sammamish topping Bellevue 1-0 for the right to take on LW.
The two squads met twice this season, with the Kangs coming out on top in both games. The first meeting was the KingCo 3A opener, which LW won 9-2 behind senior Bob Cruikshank. The USF bound Kang tossed six strong innings and went 3-for-4 with a home run in the win. The second meeting was a hard-fought battle at Lee Johnson Field, won 5-2 by Lake Washington. Junior left hander Zach Johnson and senior Duke Fanning combined on a 2-hitter, keeping the Totems offense at bay.
Sammamish is a playoff tested team, having come out of the KingCo 3A tournament last year as the league's #2. At stake is a spot in Friday night's KingCo Championship game. Game time is 4:00 PM - be there to support your Lake Washington Kangs baseball team!
