Season on Brink Following 9-2 Loss

Junior Kory Kohlwes heads
for third on his fifth inning triple.
Dylan Davis's second inning grand slam capped a 6-run second
inning as Redmond cruised past LW 9-2 in the KingCo playoff opener on
Saturday. The loss puts the Kangs one
loss away from elimination, as they must win three straight tournament games to
have a shot at the State tournament.
The Kangs had numerous chances to get back into the game
following the Mustangs' big inning. They
left nine men on base, including seven in the final three innings. They finally broke through in the fifth with
back-to-back RBI singles by Alex Donnelly and Colin Tremblay. However, they would leave two runs on in that
inning and watch Redmond tack on a run in the bottom of the fifth and two more
in the sixth to pull away.
Donnelly finished the night 2-for-4 with an RBI and Kory
Kohlwes tripled and scored a run for Lake Washington. They will put their season on the line Monday
night, when they take on Newport at 7:00 pm at Inglemoor HS in the loser’s
bracket of the KingCo
tournament.
