Jamie Wallace picked up the win, working 4 1/3 shutout innings in relief.

Lake Washington overcame a five-run first by Eastlake, pulling into a second place tie in the Crown Division with a 10-7 over the Wolves on Friday night.  Senior Jamie Wallace relieved Kang starter Wesley Russell in the first inning and put up 4 1/3 scoreless frames, making the LW comeback possible.  The offense took care of the rest, pounding out 11 hits on the evening.

Following a first inning full of walks, errors and a couple Eastlake hits, the Kangs found themselves down 5-0.  They responded immediately with three runs in the bottom half of the frame, with Nori Shimizu, Bob Cruikshank and Theo Alexander all driving in runs.  The game remained 5-3 until the fourth, when LW took a lead they would not relinquish.  Following a bloop single by Spencer Jackson and a Zach Johnson walk, senior second baseman John Shimabukuro doubled to right-center field, driving home Jackson to cut the lead to 1 at 5-4.  Nori Shimizu’s sacrifice fly tied the game at 5, and a two-out clutch single by Cruikshank pushed the Kangs ahead at 6-5.

Lake Washington would extend the lead in the fifth on a Trevor Dunlap pinch-hit RBI single.  Shimabukuro followed with a squeeze bunt and Cruikshank picked up his third hit and RBI with another 2-out single.  One more run came across in the sixth to give LW a 10-5 lead.  Eastlake would threaten in the seventh, scoring twice and bringing the tying run to the plate.  Cruikshank, the fourth Kangs pitcher of the night, was able to slam the door, striking out Alex Boyce to end the game.

Cruikshank led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI.  The Kangs continued their torrid pace on the basepaths, stealing 8 bases in 9 attempts to add to their KingCo 4A leading total.  They have now stolen 31 bases in 34 attempts in seven league games.  Nori Shimizu and John Shimabukuro each drove in two runs for LW, who starts another three game week on Monday at Garfield.
