Six-Run First Dooms Kangs in 10-7 Loss

Spencer Jackson connects on
a bases clearing triple in the 7th.
The Kangs clawed back from an early 9-run deficit but fell
short, dropping their third straight game, 10-7 to Inglemoor. The Vikings jumped out early with 6 runs in
the first and 3 more in the second to knock out LW starter Wesley Russell. The big blasts were a first inning grand slam
by third baseman Peter Meuisi and a two-run triple in the second by senior
designated hitter Scott Meyers.
Senior Jamie Wallace kept the Vikings in check, working 3 2/3
innings of relief allowing just one run on two hits, striking out three in the
process. Fellow senior Oliver Wange pitched a scoreless sixth inning, working
around a leadoff triple. Thanks to their
efforts, LW was able to get the tying run to the on deck circle in the top of
the seventh. A couple walks and
Inglemoor errors led to junior Spencer Jackson’s three run triple to deep
center field, bringing the score to 10-7.
That’s as close as the Kangs would get however, as they saw their losing
streak run to three games.
Jackson finished the day 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI and
sophomore outfielder Theo Alexander was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI
for Lake Washington, who returns to action next Tuesday against Skyline.
