Two HR
Week Earns Folkers POW Honors

Senior third baseman Eric Folkers
leads the conference with 4 HRs and 16 RBI.
For
the second week in a row, a Kang senior has earned KingCo
4A player of the week honors, with senior 1B/3B Eric Folkers winning the week 4 award. Folkers, a three year
starter in the infield for LW, picked up the hardware based on a week which saw
him go 4-for-10 with a double, 2 home runs and 5 RBI. He was 1-for-3 with an RBI on Tuesday against
Garfield and 1-for-3 with a double against Issaquah. The big game came on Wednesday, when Folkers homered twice off the
scoreboard in left field at Bellevue Community College in a 10-5 win for the
Kangs over Newport. For the season, Folkers is hitting .357 while slugging .738, good for
second on the team behind right fielder Chris Viltz
(.878 slugging). He tops the Kang leader
boards in home runs (4) and RBI (20), numbers which also lead the KingCo 4A
conference.
The Kangs return to
action Tuesday night, traveling to Redmond to take on the Mustangs in the
marquee game of the day. Both teams are
riding four game win streaks and are tied atop their respective divisions with
8-2 records. Game time is at 7:00 pm at
Hartman Park – come out and support the Kangs!
