One Intrasquad Down, One to Go
Oliver Wange pitched two shutout
innings for the win in the JV intrasquad game.
Sophomore
outfielder Max Simpkins’ two-run triple capped a 7-run seventh inning as the
White team broke open a close game en route to a 15-5 win over the Purple team
in the first of two 2009 intrasquad games. Simpkins himself scored on the play when the
relay throw from the outfield was dropped.
He, along with fellow sophomores Wesley Russell and Neil O’Connor each
drove in 2 runs for White, who scored 10 runs over the final two frames. Junior pitcher Oliver Wange
picked up the win, working 2 hitless innings out of the pen while striking out
4. The Purple team was led offensively
by sophomore outfielder Cory Keierleber, who singled
twice and drove in two runs.
The Varsity intrasquad game was postponed Wednesday night. The game has been pushed back to Thursday
night, again at 7:00 pm at Lee Johnson Field.
