Former
Kang Young Signs with Sacramento State
2007 graduate Kirby Young will continue his collegiate
baseball career in sunny California.
Two-year Varsity starter and 2007 graduate Kirby Young has
chosen Sacramento
State University as the next step in his baseball career. Young, who started at first base his junior
year before moving to shortstop for his senior season, signed this week with
the Hornets who compete at the Division I level in the Western Athletic
Conference. The 2007 second-team
All-KingCo shortstop currently plays for the Edmonds Community College Tritons
and was a key member of their NWAACC championship team in 2008. He joins ’06 graduate Ben Thielsen
(UNC-Wilmington) as former Kangs who moved on to Division I programs following
their time at Edmonds CC. Congratualtions to Kirby on this great accomplishment!
Congratulations also go out to four Kangs for their
performance on the gridiron. Seniors
Eric Folkers and Spencer Wozeniak
each earned first-team Crown division honors at middle linebacker and wide
receiver respectively. Junior Joe Pitzler and sophomore Alex Donnelly received honorable
mentions for their performance during the 2008 football campaign.
Check back through the off-season for updates on Kangs
baseball.
