Former Kang Hundley Homers in Triple-A Debut

Former Kang catcher and 2002 graduate Nick Hundley homered in his first Pacific Coast League (AAA) at-bat as his Portland Beavers won their season-opener 8-4 over the Fresno Grizzlies.  Hundley, a prospect in the San Diego Padres organization, spend last season with the San Antonio Missions, hitting .247 with 20 home runs and 72 RBI.  In addition to Hundley, class of 2005 member David Marks made his South Atlantic League (A) debut with the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox organization), serving as the designated hitter.  Marks walked twice and struck out twice in the Drive’s 3-2 loss to the Kannapolis Intimidators.

The current Kangs open up a four-game road trip on Friday night with a visit to Inglemoor to take on the 6-3 Vikings.  The road swing continues next week when Lake Washington travels to Roosevelt on Monday and Franklin on Friday.  The trip finishes up with a game against the top-ranked Redmond Mustangs at Hartman Park on Monday, 4/14.
