Former
Kang Hundley Homers in Triple-A Debut
Former Kang catcher and 2002 graduate Nick Hundley homered in his first
Pacific Coast League (AAA) at-bat as his Portland Beavers won their
season-opener 8-4 over the Fresno Grizzlies.
Hundley, a prospect in the San Diego Padres organization, spend last
season with the San Antonio Missions, hitting .247 with 20 home runs and 72
RBI. In addition to Hundley, class of
2005 member David Marks made his South Atlantic League (A) debut with
the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox organization), serving as the designated
hitter. Marks walked twice and struck
out twice in the Drive’s 3-2 loss to the Kannapolis Intimidators.
The current Kangs open up a four-game road trip on Friday
night with a visit to Inglemoor to take on the 6-3
Vikings. The road swing continues next
week when Lake Washington travels to Roosevelt on Monday and Franklin on Friday. The trip finishes up with a game against the
top-ranked Redmond Mustangs at Hartman Park on Monday, 4/14.
