Field Day a Huge Success

 

On Saturday, February 16th, a field work party was held at Lake Washington HS in preparation for the 2008 Kangs Baseball season.  The turnout was impressive with over 50 players, parents and community volunteers coming out to help the cause.  The result was a major upgrade to the facilities on campus.  A few highlights of what was accomplished at the work party:

 

• The outdoor batting cage fencing was torn out and replaced with two full-length batting cage nets.  The result is a much safer and more useful area for the players to hit.

 

• The indoor batting cage structure was fixed and the holes in the nets were repaired - again making for a much safer area to hit.

 

• The pitching mounds on both the main field and the home bullpens were rebuilt with clay and resized to the correct specifications.

 

• The main field was leveled out and the dirt was pulled back from the exterior walls to expose the drains. 

 

In addition to these improvements, many other important tasks were accomplished during the day.  Thanks to all who participated to get our field ready for the upcoming season - and thanks to the Wilson's who provided all the workers with a great lunch!
