Kangs Drafted in Second Day of MLB Draft
Congratulations are in order to two former
Kangs, who were selected on the second day of the Major League Baseball
first-year player draft.
·
Lake Washington senior outfielder Hilton Richardson was drafted
by the Kansas City Royals in the seventh round of the first year player draft
on Friday. Richardson, who is signed
with the University of Utah, hit .321 this past season for the Kangs, with a
.509 slugging percentage and 13 stolen bases.
·
Former Lake Washington outfielder David Marks was selected by
the Boston Red Sox in the 19th round of the draft. Marks, a 2005 graduate, attended Edmonds
Community College where he earned first-team all-NWAACC honors in 2007. David, a member of the Kangs 2005 KingCo
championship team, has signed a letter of intent to play at New Mexico State.
Best of luck to these former Kangs in the
future!
